Serious cyclists demand rigid soles to exploit the power transfer. However, extreme rigidity can create an uncomfortable shoe. The new Sidi Ergo-1 solves this problem with its innovative Ergo System Carbon sole. A combination of nylon and carbon creates a rigid sole which is flexible on the outside, allowing blood to circulate more freely in the foot. Closure system utilizes a single Velcro strap (with integrated security teeth) at the toe, Tecno II at the ball of the foot and the Soft Arch Compression Strap with Ultra MicroLock buckle to dial in the fit. Lorica/mesh uppers, padded tongue and molded plastic heel cup.
Ergo System:
The Ergo System's high-modulus, pressure-molded, carbon-fiber plates offer optimal power transfer and controlled flexibility through strategic placement of two plates under 60% of the foot area. This design minimizes harshness, fatigue and hot spots while reducing the chances of tendon and ligament injuries.
Lorica:
A microfiber that exudes all the positive attributes of leather, yet none of the negative characteristics. LORICA is supple, conforming, highly breathable and will not stretch. In addition, LORICA is water repellent, highly abrasion resistant, easy to clean and will not rot or dry out. SIDI was the first cycling shoe company to use this advanced material, which is now considered an industry standard.
Arch Compression Strap:
An anatomically shaped pad and strap combination that more evenly spreads the upward stroke loads across the top of the foot.
Ultra Buckles:
The second generation of our first micro-adjust buckle. With the choice of one or four complete ratchets on the uptake and half-ratchet releases, a rider can achieve a precise fit and improved comfort and performance. Ultra buckles are also replaceable and user serviceable.
Tecno II Buckles:
A monofilament line and dial closure system that is the second generation of the revolutionary Tecno Evolution buckle. Twist or release to achieve the perfect fit so that comfort and performance can be maximized. And like all SIDI hardware, the Tecno buckles are replaceable.
