One of the most exciting new functions of the redesigned XTR off-road racing group is seen in the new Dual Control Lever. This lever represents the first of a new generation of shifting systems. It lets you shift gears up or down, from various hand positions, allowing the rider to focus on the trail. The secondary release lever provides another shifting option that is a great ""transitional"" feature as you become accustomed to dual control shifting and can be removed if desired for the ultimate ""clean"" set-up. Internally, shifting is executed by the tried and true, high precision indexing system found in the M950 series XTR, featuring three sets of ball bearings that result in more precise shifts, a shorter lever stroke and decreased shifting effort. The levers are available in both a traditional and hydraulic disc brake compatible versions. The Dual Control shift lever sets a new standard for shifting ease and swiftness.
The new XTR front derailleur pivot link is 50% wider for a 110% increase in rigidity. You get a faster and more responsive shifting action plus a longer service life. The derailleur also includes the new ""Dual Pull"" feature that allows it to be used with top or bottom cable routing. The multi-clamp adapter allows the medium 31.8mm size derailleur clamp to fit 28.6mm frame tubes. Two sealed bearings at critical pivot points reduce the shifting effort. E-type derailleur remains an option, allowing more freedom for innovative frame designs.

jamie buckingham, Sydney, AUSTRALIA Very fast shifters, a little ’plastic’ feeling. Personally I prefer one lever to do one job, but these do work well!... [click for full review] |
